Some Things I’d Like to See in Black Ops 2′s Zombies Mode
Zombies is one of the most popular innovations to the Call of Duty franchise that Treyarch has brought to the table. Originally introduced in World at War back in 2008, it has become a staple of all Treyarch’s CoD games and is one major way theirs are set apart from Infinity Ward’s. Treyarch has already confirmed that the zombies game mode will be included in the upcoming Call of Duty Black Ops 2 due out this November. There aren’t many other details known but there will likely be some improvements that will make it even more fun. Here are a few things I’d like to see:
It would be nice to be able to customize your zombies experience by creating your own maps or at least choosing which guns go where on existing maps. One of the biggest complaints that you often hear about from die-hard zombies players is that some of the best guns can only be acquired through luck of the draw in the mystery box (such as the Ray Gun). It would be nice to be able to purchase some of these weapons on the map rather than just hoping you randomly get one. They are among some of the most fun weapons to use and they become necessary when you get deep into the game mode and it becomes nearly impossible with standard weaponry alone.
2. A Save Feature
At some point in time, many gamers have probably had a friend over to play some Nazi zombies, spent hours getting to wave thirty or forty, and then their friend had to leave. This is disappointing if you wanted to see how far you could get before dying.
It would be nice to be able to save your progress and then pick the game back up with your friend (or friends) at the same wave later on. If Treyarch did implement a save feature, it shouldn’t work if you die though. If you die, it would reset. This should only help out players who need to leave a game due to time constraints.
3. More Specialist-Zombies
The original Black Ops introduced some special “boss’ waves on a few of the zombies maps. This helps to break up the monotony of facing wave after wave of shambling brain-dead zombies. I’d like to see more “specialist” zombies appearing at regular intervals in Black Ops 2. Left 4 Dead has special infected types such as the Smoker, Boomer, and Hunter which each have their own unique abilities. Something like this would work great in Black Op 2’s zombies mode.
